The Mastering Business series is the most extensive cross-platform, multimedia business education resource in the world. The project currently includes coverage in eight key business disciplines: strategy, accounting, finance, economics, management, marketing, operations management, and business essentials. There are 12 individual episodes in each of the series' disciplines. Each episode employs a multilayered instructional design.

Mastering Business is the first fully integrated series of video-enhanced interactive exercises that span the core business education curriculum. Designed to actively engage students in the learning of core business concepts, each Mastering Business episode includes immersive, interactive exercises to accompany the video.

Through the episodes, students encounter the growing pains of a new e-business, see the implications of changing attitudes toward work, learn about resources in the e-commerce world, and learn how the various functional areas of business work together to ensure the growth of the company. Mastering Business provides a more integrated view of business than any other pedagogical tool. By linking theory to practice, students will experience first-hand realistic business issues, apply theory to problems, and bridge the world of e-commerce and traditional business.

The Mastering Business team includes more than 100 academics, writers, actors, videographers, programmers, and designers to ensure accurate content and quality production. The final product is the work of professionals - from the university faculty who created the content, to the Hollywood scriptwriter and team of professional actors, directors, and videographers who produced the videos. It is the first project of its kind to bring such a broad educational perspective to the integration of custom video, interactive technologies and the Internet. All the content was also subjected to independent faculty reviews for accuracy and pedagogic rigor.

The complete set of Mastering Business is designed for use within a traditional classroom, or can be used by anyone with an undergraduate degree outside of business who is considering an MBA degree and would like to have a general understanding of the concepts and principles before continuing their studies. Observing the same cast of characters handle a variety of situations in each of the individual CD-ROMs gives users of this series an incredible amount of power in integrating the functional areas of business. For example, a single event like an IPO is examined from the perspectives of strategy, finance, management, and marketing in the series.
